The tower with roomy interiors is made of an impressive 42,000 Bamboo culms glued together to form a strong and durable framework. The tower has a unique shape that consists of arches, domes and grids, with a hollow core that resembles a lotus flower and a bronze drum, symbolizing Vietnamese culture and spirituality. The Bamboo tower has many advantages for the environment and the visitors. The Bamboo grid allows outdoor light and air to enter the tower, creating a bright and airy space. The building also has skylights and a thatched roof, adding charm and comfort. The tower is a popular attraction for tourists, who can admire the beauty and innovation of Bamboo construction.

The Bamboo Bridge in China

The Bamboo Bridge, nestled in China's scenic Yunnan Province, has been a lifeline for locals since its completion in 2016. Stretching a generous 200 meters in length and 5 meters in width, it provides a convenient means to cross the Li River.
This bridge is a fine example of traditional Chinese craftsmanship. Crafted from 1,200 Bamboo culms, the woven structure reflects the time-honored technique of Bamboo weaving. This approach results in a sturdy yet flexible design, ideal for its purpose. What sets the Bamboo Bridge apart is its low maintenance requirements. The ZCB Bamboo Pavilion in Hong Kong

The ZCB Bamboo Pavilion, a vibrant public event space in Kowloon Bay, Hong Kong, was constructed in 2015. It's a four-story high Bamboo grid shell with a 350m² footprint and room for 200 attendees. This project is a result of the collaboration between the Construction Industry Council, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and various other contractors.
Crafted from 475 large Bamboo poles, the pavilion showcases the art of Cantonese Bamboo scaffolding craftsmanship. These poles are skillfully bent on-site and hand-tied together with metal wire to create a stunning diagrid shell set-up that folds into three elegant columns. These columns are supported by circular concrete footings, providing both stability and grace. The pavilion is adorned with a custom-made white tensile fabric that bathes in soft, radiant light from within, creating a mesmerizing visual spectacle.

The Green School in Indonesia

Located in a village near Ubud, Bali, Green School is a private institution that has gained global recognition for being ecologically viable with quirky Bamboo pavilions. All buildings on the campus are made of locally grown, treated, and manufactured Bamboo. The school was founded by a Bali-based jewelry designer, John Hardy, and boasts over 70 large Bamboo frames, including a bridge over the Ayung River valley that connects the school to its main entrance.
The centerpiece of the school, known as "The Heart of the School," has a swirling rooftop design and is built on Bamboo stilts that are 60 meters long. Recently, the school added a new building called "The Arc," the first ever made of its kind. It is built from a series of intersecting 14-meter-tall Bamboo arches spanning 19 meters, interconnected by anticlastic grid shells that derive their strength from curving in two opposite directions. The Arc has raised the bar for eco-friendly designs around the world.

The Bamboo Stadium in Thailand

The Bamboo Stadium, located in Thailand's Chiang Mai Province, is a stunning example of sustainable architecture. Its construction was completed in 2019, and the lotus flower inspired the design to reflect the values and teachings of the nearby Panyaden International School.
The stadium is constructed from 1,500 Bamboo culms, which add organic beauty and serve a functional purpose. The construction team used prefabricated Bamboo trusses, each with a 17-meter span and no need for steel reinforcements. These trusses were an ingenious solution, contributing to the stadium's durability and structural integrity.
Safety was a top priority during the construction, with inputs from two independent engineers to meet modern standards. The stadium is equipped to withstand high-speed winds, earthquakes, and other earthly forces. The stadium's design also enables a consistently pleasant climate through outdoor ventilation and insulation, making it an ideal venue for sporting events and concerts.
