The Bamboo Laundry Basket – Mini is new at Bamboostan, and it takes everything people like about our full-size basket and fits it into a smaller corner. It has the same bamboo body, the same removable lid and the same washable fabric liner, just scaled down. At 50 cm tall and holding around 5 kg, about a few days of one adult's clothes, it suits a compact bathroom, a child's room, a studio or a single-person space.

Rectangle or round

The Mini comes in two shapes. The rectangle measures 50 cm high, 40 cm long and 30 cm wide, and sits flush against a wall, so it makes good use of corner space. The round version is 50 cm high and 35 cm across, and has a softer look that suits a smaller room. Both have the same bamboo body, liner and capacity, so choose whichever fits your space best.

Lid on, liner in

Two details make the Mini easy to live with. The removable fabric liner sits inside the basket and folds over the rim, so clothes never touch the bamboo directly. When it is time for a wash, lift the liner out, put it in the machine and slide it back in. The lid lifts off completely: keep it on to keep the day's clothes out of sight, or take it off when you are tossing things in. The bamboo has a smooth finish with no rough edges to catch fabric.

Where the Mini earns its corner

In a bedroom, it sits beside the bed like a low side piece rather than a plastic hamper you have to look at. In a small bathroom, towels and the day's wash go straight in and the lid closes over them. In a kids' room, it doubles as a toy hamper: soft toys and blocks go in at the end of the day, and it is light enough for a child to move back to its corner. It also works as a spare-linen store for fresh towels and sheets, or as a tidy laundry spot in a dorm room or guest room.

Caring for your Mini basket

Machine-wash the fabric liner on a gentle cycle and let it air dry flat. Wipe the bamboo basket and lid with a damp cloth, and do not soak them. The basket handles normal bedroom and bathroom humidity, but keep it out of direct shower spray. It needs only light assembly, and the manual is included in the box.
